Funny how what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander. Several years ago I had a user submit some pictures of the 0-ring modification to an AR-15 extractor which I eagerly uploaded at one of my other sites. A bit of time went on and then one day I get an email from someone at a site who turned out to be the actual owner of the images. That site was owned and operated by Rainier Arms. Anyhow after a few quick emails everything was good no foul. I went and took my own picture of the 0-ring extractor modification. It was at that time I decided to only use user supplied images that could be verified and I would also begin digitally watermarking my own images. All has been good up until a few weeks ago when one of the staff members of my 308AR.com facebook page shared Rainer Arms link of their new Revolvr App. Imagine my surprise when I saw not only did they lift my picture but they used it in their app!!! Now being wired a little differently Im not mad or slighted in the least in fact I see this a little as flattery and nice to know they have noticed my tiny little niche of the internet. The other thing is I love the folks at Rainier (especially one employee in particular) and Im also a customer. That said It would have been nice if they asked and maybe gave us and the folks at A-Tacs a hat tip. Anyhow if the fine folks at Rainier read this I wouldn’t mind a new hat. One of the old style from a few years ago.
